Animal Profiling International (API) announces launch of EasyPreg, a milk-based pregnancy test for cattle
PORTLAND, Oregon – Animal Profiling International (API), a company dedicated to the improvement of animal health management and food safety through the application of technology solutions, has formally announced the launch of EasyPreg, a milk-based pregnancy testing service. The quick and accurate results this product generates will aid cattlemen in efforts to make their reproductive programs as streamlined and efficient as possible. The test is designed to detect pregnancy in cattle as early as 35 days post-insemination without invasive palpation or ultrasound.
EasyPreg testing offers cattle operations the unique opportunity to detect pregnancy earlier and with greater accuracy over traditional pregnancy testing methods while also reducing the risks of pregnancy loss due to palpation or ultrasound trauma. Because the test is milk-based, there are minimal impositions on the animals and no feed or comfort disruptions. Additionally, the testing provides producers and operators further time flexibility, allowing them to test for pregnancy on their own schedules.
“Adding EasyPreg to our line of services allows us to improve our customers’ efficiencies, removing delays in breeding programs that cost time and money, which is especially important given the current market conditions our customers face,” said Bruce Hoffman, API President.
API’s industry experts provide the products and services that operators in the beef, dairy and food supply industries need to make their jobs more efficient and profitable. The company has tested over 2.5 million head of cattle and dairy animals for BVD and currently services clients in over 40 U.S. states. In addition to BVD and pregnancy testing, the company also provides diagnostic services for the detection of Bovine Leucosis Virus (BLV), Johne’s disease and mastitis in cattle and PRRS in swine.
